PURITY

Every day, teenagers are bombarded with hundreds of messages about sex: at school, on TV, the internet – sex is everywhere they look. There are some harmful messages and inaccurate ideas that lead people to make foolish decisions for their life. These bad decisions can result in people carrying around deep wounds, hurts and painful memories.

I wanted to share with you that we will be exploring the sensitive topic of sex at ALIOTH and the following. Our series title, as well as our focus for the series, is PURITY. In my studies preparing for this series, I found that the best solution to fighting the temptations of the world is having a right understanding of what purity really is.

The dates with an asterisk (*) will be times where guys and girls will be split up so they can talk about temptations and struggles specific to them. The rest of the time will be in teaching structure as opposed to small group discussion – we want to strongly deliver God’s truth to their hearts when the world is delivering the exact opposite.

If you want to know more specifically about what is going to be discussed, please ask! I’d be happy to share with you where we’re headed (and maybe even get a little insight into more topics that need to be discussed!). We are going to be very frank about a lot of issues – God created sex, and we want our students to understand it as He created it. Parents are welcome to come to any meeting.
