Questions for the Community

Personal Reflection

  1. Did Father’s Day stir anything up in you? (about relationships, regrets, repentance, joy, gratitude?) Put into action what God is prompting. Don’t wait.
  2. Where did you learn to resolve conflict? Have you seen Christian’s do this well or poorly? What has been the effect?

Group Discussion

  1. Recap what the two conflicts were about. Were they fighting for something good? Should they have just let it all go? Do you tend toward fighting when you shouldn’t or hiding when you should be fighting?
  2. What does Acts 15 tell us about how they resolved the conflict. Really dig in and look. What does it NOT tell us about the process? How can you apply this in life?
  3. All the people in conflictπ here in Acts 15 are professing Christians, how does this impact conflict? How are we to treat one another? WAIT! Before answering, read Ephesians 4:1-6 out loud.
  4. How does the split of Paul and Barnabas make you feel? What do you think of their decision? Now thinkers and feelers in the group…come up with alternatives to simply splitting up the team. See James 1:19-20
  5. Is there any way you are making it hard for people to turn to God?
  6. How has God used conflict to sharpen your understanding of God or the gospel?

Plan of Action

  1. Act on the 4 habits discussed or others God prompts you to obey. Take Acts 15 into your next conflict.
