Questions for the Community

Devoted to Learning

  1. Why is a “non-practicing Christian” non-sensical? What do you make of those who habitually don’t obey what they are learning yet still think of themselves as Christians?
  2. What is one idea or Scripture that landed loudest from Sunday? Reflect on why it hit you this week and what God is wanting to communicate.
  3. How is learning a kind of doing? Is it possible to over learn and under “do” or vice versa? Ponder how this happens and what the results are. (think of Bible as diet and Obedience as exercise).
  4. Review 1 John 3:2-6. Now respond to “Obedience proves love for God but never gains the love of God.”
  5. Walk, Practice, Work Out, Train: What do each of these tell us about discipleship?

Devoted to one another

  1. Who has God given as a work out buddy (peer), personal trainer (teacher) and trainee (someone you are helping along)?
  2. How is obedience both a corporate (WE) and individual (ME) thing?
  3. Spend time celebrating one another and calling out how you see them exercising their faith.

Devoted to praying

7. Pray over one another for childlike obedience. If there is a specific area of need or concern, let it be known and turn your cares into prayers!
