Questions for the Community

Personal Reflection

  1. Intentionally think over what Paul wrote in our passage this week. Write down the insights you receive. Thank Him for giving them to you!
  2. Find a distraction free environment and invite God to bring to mind your greatest temptations right now (maybe they fit into the motif of what is called for in soldiers, athletes or farmers). Bring it specifically into the light by naming it and agreeing with God that it is wicked, dirty and leads only to death. Repent and renounce the sin. Only after you’ve taken time with that…bask in the forgiveness that is freely and abundantly yours in Jesus Christ.

Group Discussion

  1. Which of the three examples (soldier, athlete, farmer) is it easiest to connect with? Why is this and what is God saying to you?
  2. Did it help to start with Jesus as our example for each of these? Why or why not? What do you celebrate about our Lord?
  3. How do you practically THINK through things in life and TRUST God to give the insight? (see vs 7)

Plan of Action

  1. Take time to stop and thank God for examples of each of these, consider using this as a writing prompt “God thank you for ____, they have been such an example of a hard working farmer to me” *BONUS…write them a hand-written note of gratitude and make their day!
