Questions for the Community

Personal Reflection

  1. What causes you to lament?
  2. What does your lament reveal about you?

Group Discussion

  1. Consider all that Micah has been writing about so far. Now in chpt. 7 he is grieving and pouring out his heart. What stands out to you about the first part of chpt. 7?
  2. Review all that is lost due to sin in Micah’s day. What can you learn from seeing an ancient society breakdown due to rebellion on all sides?
  3. Name what sin has cost our society. Do you see similarities to what Micah wrote about? What are they?
  4. Do you have a theology of lament? Do you allow space in your life for lament? What was stirred up on Sunday?
  5. Where does our hope lie for all the good that is gone? Why can we lament differently than those who aren’t “in Christ”?

Plan of Action

  1. Look at verse 7 (hint…it’s at the top of this page AND in your Bible). This is your plan of action. Allow the simplicity of this verse to be a model for you to follow. Consider this verse collectively (as a family, Community Group, church) and not just individually.
