A Lasting Impact | Un Impacto Duradero
I have always admired people that despite any hardship they are going through are able to display their faith with much love and hope. They seem to always have a smile on their faces. When I try to talk to them to encourage them, I end up getting much more from them than what I could give them.
This was the case with the Thessalonians. Paul in 1 Thess. 1:6b let us know that they were going through great affliction, but nevertheless they had the joy of the Holy Spirit. That is why Paul constantly prayed for them, thanking God for their lives (v.2) and for their faith, love, and hope (v.3). Because of their actions they were able to set an example and make a lasting impact with all the people in that region (v.7-8).
The question is then… how can we do the same? How can we have joy in the middle of hardship and with so many crises around us? Well, I think the answer is found in the beginning of verse 6, “They became imitators of the Lord Jesus Christ”.
The bigger the crisis, the bigger the opportunities that we will have to make a lasting impact, especially right now with everything that is going on in our nation, in our state, and in the Bay Area. It is time to imitate our Lord like never before, and it is time to be witnesses for the Lord like never before. May God give you the wisdom, the strength, the creativity, and the love to do so; to be an example to others and to make a lasting impact. May God Bless You!
Siempre he admirado a las personas que a pesar de las dificultades que atraviesan son capaces de mostrar su fe con mucho amor y esperanza, y pareciera que siempre tienen una sonrisa en sus rostros. Cuando trato de hablar con ellos para animarlos, termino obteniendo mucho más de ellos de lo que puedo yo darles.
Este fue el caso de los tesalonicenses, Pablo en 1 Tes. 1:6b nos hace saber que estaban pasando por una gran aflicción, pero sin embargo tenían el gozo del Espíritu Santo y es por eso que Pablo constantemente oraba por ellos y agradecía a Dios por sus vidas (v.2) y por su fe, amor y esperanza (v.3) y gracias a sus acciones fueron capaces de dar ejemplo y tener un impacto duradero en todas las personas de esa región (v.7-8).
La pregunta es entonces, ¿cómo podemos hacer lo mismo, cómo podemos tener alegría en medio de las dificultades y sobretodo con tantas crisis a nuestro alrededor? Bueno, creo que la respuesta se encuentra al comienzo del versículo 6, “Se hicieron imitadores del Señor Jesucristo”.
Cuanto mayor sea la crisis, mayores serán las oportunidades que tendremos para tener un impacto duradero, especialmente ahora mismo con todo lo que está sucediendo en nuestra nación, en nuestro estado y en el Área de la Bahía, es hora de imitar a nuestro Señor como nunca antes. y es hora de ser testigos del nuestro Señor como nunca antes, que Dios te dé la sabiduría, la fuerza, la creatividad y el amor para ser un ejemplo para los demás y lograr un impacto duradero. ¡Que Dios te bendiga!
